About
The Vox Set returns for a third series of intimate concerts and curated live performances inside the iconic Mussenden Temple.
Launching the 2025 series is experimental-folk duo THE DARKLING AIR.
Renowned for their haunting melodies and evocative lyrics, singer-songwriter Rachel McCarthy and composer-producer Michael Keeney have carved out a unique sonic niche.
From the fragility of childhood innocence to the universal experience of loss, the Bangor-based duo's music delves deep into the complexities of human emotion and the importance of imagination, where dreams and mystery offer a form of escapism.
This May, expect ambient soundscapes and haunting vocals underpinned by guitar, piano and strings when The Darkling Air bring their signature blend of dark, experimental folk to the north coast.
Promising to be a mesmerising and immersive experience, you won't want to miss this Vox Set session.
- ABOUT THE ARTIST -
When songwriter and vocalist Rachel McCarthy (Farriers) met composer and producer Michael Keeney (Foy Vance, Duke Special) while mixing a record in Donegal some years ago, a future collaboration was inevitable.
Now, following two acclaimed albums, 2025 will see the release of the duo's much anticipated third album - 'Pareidolia'.
Offering a glimpse of what to expect, the band's new track "Pandemonium" has been described as a "deftly-handled blend of brooding, experimental folk" and a "magnetic tune". (Extra.ie)
