Northern Ireland has been used for filming several scenes from HBO’s epic drama series, Game of Thrones®, and many of these locations can be found in the stunning Causeway Coast and Glens. We've put together a list of the locations to visit in the region where you can fully immerse yourself in George R.R. Cushendun Caves

These intriguing caves, which have been formed over the course of 400 million years, were used as a cove in the Stormlands during the series – it was made famous by Season 2 Episode 4 as the Shadow creature’s birthplace. Please note: This site is on private land

Murlough Bay

Also known as Slaver’s Bay, and also used for Renly’s Camp in Season 2, Murlough Bay is a secluded spot on the Causeway Coastal Route which offers stunning views of nearby Rathlin Island, stretching as far as the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland on clear days

Larrybane

Larrybane was the location where Renly Baratheon’s camp was when Catelyn Stark and Petyr Baelish, the Little Finger, visited him. Close to this dramatic coastal location is the famous Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, which is suspended 100ft above sea level.

Ballintoy Harbour

The harbour in Ballintoy is better known to fans of the show as Lordsport Harbour, Pyke and the Iron Islands where Theon is baptised into the religion of the drowned God, thus reaffirming his loyalty to his family in Season 2.

The Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges is a beautiful avenue of beech trees in Stranocum (County Antrim) that was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. The avenue has featured in Game of Thrones as the iconic Kingsroad from King’s Landing where Ayra Stark, assisted by Yoren the Night’s Watch recruiter, tried to go back to Winterfell

Portstewart Strand

The sandy dunes of the picturesque Portstewart Strand is recognisable among fans as the location where Jaime and Bronn came ashore on Dorne and fought and killed some Dornish men as they sought to bring Myrella back from Dorne to King’s Landing. It is also the site where Ellaria and the sisters plan to start a war with the Lannisters.

Downhill Beach

This spectacular beach was used as the setting for Stannis Baratheon’s rejection of the Seven Gods of Westeros in Season 2 where, under the influence of Melisandre, he allows her to burn their effigies as an offering to the Lord of Light.

Binevenagh Mountain

Binevenagh – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – is situated in the Limavady area of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough. The dramatic basalt cliffs where used as the shooting location in Season 5 Episode 10 when Daenerys, searching for food, is spotted and surrounded by a Dothraki horde.
