About

Causeway Coast Foodie Tours is delighted to host you on a very special ‘The Spirit of the Bann’ river Irish whiskey tasting experience; an ideal and unique opportunity to slowly savour distinctive colours and flavours, enjoy a warm glow and celebrate the beautiful blend of natural & man-made wonders our stunning Causeway Coast has to offer!  Situated only 11 miles from the Giant’s Causeway World Heritage Site, less than 6 miles from Royal Portrush Golf Club and less than 4 miles from Portstewart Golf Club.

Where better to celebrate our unique food and drink heritage than via a journey on the River Bann alongside the beautiful historic site of Mountsandel, Coleraine?

You will retrace the voyages of our ancestors who settled here almost 10,000 years ago; and travel by river with local operators White River Charters, on their vintage vessel, ‘MV Kingfisher’.  This glorious wooden boat was built by the world-renowned Harland and Wolff shipbuilders in the historic Belfast Shipyard (of Titanic fame!) and has been beautifully restored and tailored to provide visitors with a truly first-class visitor experience.

There are many home comforts on board including covered & comfortable seating, cosy blankets and plenty of good cheer. Exploring the River Bann from the comfort of this style of boat allows you to immerse yourself in nature and absorb the sights and sounds of the changing season where the wooded riverbanks present a burst of vibrant seasonal colours and wildlife.

You will be introduced to a selection of Irish whiskies, rich and full of flavour with a unique depth of character.  Tasting notes highlighting colour, age, blends, casks, nose, aromas and flavour notes will be explained.

These world class whiskies will be accompanied by a hand-picked selection of award-winning local produce including North Coast Smokehouse hot-smoked salmon, Corndale Farm charcuterie, Dart Mountain cheeses, artisan preserves and sweet treats from around the Causeway Coast.

Causeway Coast Foodie Tours invites you to wrap up warm, share food & stories and experience the warm glow from the welcome and the whiskies! This is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with those who share your outdoor spirit.
