About

The Doey is a farmhouse, built in 1900 and so named because it sits beside a Doey Beg or ancient burial mound. Although close to all amenities this lovely old building is a rural retreat where the views are of the River Bann meandering into the Atlantic across the golden sands of Portstewart Strand, and the only sounds are birdsong and an occasional clatter of the little train across the river.

Ideally situated for family holidays, since Portstewart Promenade, Portstewart Golf Club and the beach are all within a ten minute walk. Even closer is Flowerfield Arts Centre where there is entertainment and activities for all ages, and Tesco is at the end of your lane.

The house sleeps up to twelve people in three double rooms and three twins, with one of the twin rooms and a double adjoining making it a perfect family area.

The ground floor has a bright modern kitchen with new appliances. There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge freezer and double oven cooker, plus TV and DVD combined. A bathroom with large shower unit, sitting room with TV and gas fire, and a double bedroom are also on this floor.

The first floor has two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a large bathroom with shower and corner bath.
The second floor has two twin bedrooms.

All of the interior has been recently refurbished and tastefully decorated.

Attached to the house is a wet room including a WC where swimwear and wetsuits can be removed before entering the house.

All bedlinen and towels are provided and heating/electricity is included. There is a fibre optic broadband connection (BT Infinity) for the convenience of visitors, and up to three pets are welcome.

Beds are changed if multiple week booking of two or more.

Complimentary food and drink on arrival.

Road Directions

Directions from Town:
From Portstewart take the A2 which is the Coleraine Road. After passing Larkhill Filling Station on your left you will see the entrance to Meadowlands on your right. The lane to The Doey is immediately after that road on the same side and just before a very old graveyard, in fact the graveyard wall forms the southern boundary of the lane. The lane is marked by a large stone with "The Doey" "160" engraved on the surface.
