About

Peatlands offers luxury 4-star guest accommodation within a peaceful and private natural setting on the Causeway Coast. Tucked away in three acres of private grounds are two fully self-contained, luxury shepherd’s huts, each secluded in their own ample space and natural landscape, with private boardwalk and deck. Designed, built and finished to the highest standards of craftmanship, these iconic cabins are full of character, charm and comfort. With their cosy wood-burning stoves and facilities for self-catering, they offer a perfect getaway all year round for couples or solo travellers, whether to rest and unwind or as a work-from-hut retreat.

Each shepherd’s hut has its own private shower room, with luxury towels and toiletries. The comfy king-size bed is furnished with luxury cotton linens and there is wardrobe and underbed storage for belongings. Kitchens are fully equipped with fridge, microwave, oven and double hob as well as kettle, coffee-maker and toaster. In addition to the stove, there is an electric heater and towel rail. Guests can also relax and cook around the private outdoor fire pit. Huts have high-speed Wi-Fi and free parking is available on site. Max. capacity per hut is 2 persons.

Peatlands also has an award-winning on-site bakery, serving artisan sourdough bread and other freshly prepared bakes. Guests can enjoy the delicious bakery produce with their breakfast. Next to the bakery is "The Nook", a multi-purpose space with facilities for hanging damp clothes, ironing, and collection of additional firewood. High-security storage is available for cycles and other sports equipment.

The spectacular scenery and rich culture of the Causeway Coast are a short drive away. Portrush, Dunluce Castle, and Bushmills are all within 10 mins drive, and the Giant’s Causeway, Dark Hedges, and Portstewart are within 15 mins drive. The beautiful Glens of Antrim and Ballycastle, with ferry crossings to Rathlin Island, are also nearby.

Northern Ireland’s peatlands are a unique and important part of our natural environment and cultural heritage.  Across the road, the farmland meets with Garry Bog, one of NI’s largest areas of undamaged lowland raised bog, and an internationally recognised Ramsar Site, Special Area of Conservation, and Area of Special Scientific Interest. A path is open to the public and visitors can walk through the colourful and aromatic grasses, mosses, heathers and gorse.

Whatever the season, a warm welcome awaits you at Peatlands!
