Trafalgar Day 2017

Dervock, Ballymoney, 21 Oct

This year Dervock village holds its third Trafalgar Day event with quite a diverse programme. Host to guests from the Royal Marines Association, Royal Navy Association, NI Submariners Association and Portrush Sea Cadets.
The event promotes the history of The Battle of Trafalgar, which is depicted in the Stained Glass Window in The Allen & Adair Memorial Hall in Dervock Village, Ballymoney.

The event has been organised by a group of dedicated locals who are keen to promote their history and their links to Captain Adair and his heroic role in the The Battle of Trafalgar. The window captures the battle scene moments before Captain Adair and Lord Nelson were both mortally wounded. This is a unique event – the only one to commemorate Trafalgar Day in the entire Causeway Coast and Glens Region and the Allen & Adar Memorial Window is the only memorial to the Battle of Trafalgar in North Antrim.
