GLENS RED SQUIRREL GROUP - ACTIVITY LIST 2017
9th August - Lark in the Park Cushendall @ 2-4pm - Cottage Wood, Cushendall
Come along to Cushendall's annual Lark in the Park, where there will be a host of family fun and activities including the Glens Red Squirrel Group, who will be on hand to tell you about the iconic native red squirrel and the work they do in Cottage Wood Park and throughout the Glens to conserve this threatened species.
9th September - Glenariff Forest Park Walk @ 10.30am - Meet at Glenariff Forest Park main car park.
Join the Glens Red Squirrel Group for a gentle wander through the beautiful Glenariff Froest Park, learn about the work of the GRSG and the rare native red squirrel that they help to conserve. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of this rare species, but either way you will enjoy exploring this scenic forest with a local guide.
8th October - Cushendun Cregagh Wood Hide - Opening 10am-12noon
Parking available at St Patrick's Church, Glendun Road
There will be someone on hand in the hide to tell you about the wildlife of Cregagh Wood, including the rare native red squirrel. If you are lucky you will see this secretive species, but you will definitely be able to enjoy the wealth of bird life present in this beautiful woodland.
14th October - Cregagh Wood Cushendun @ 11am. Meeting at St Patrick's Church car park (Cushendun Chapel) and hide visit
15th October - Ballypatrick Forest Walk @ 11am
21st October - Cregagh Wood Hide, opening from 8-10am
21st October - Ballycastle Forest - meeting at forest car park at Fairhill Street. Time to be confirmed
22nd October - Glenariff, time and location to be confirmed as linked with Ghosts in the Glens Festival Weekend
28th October - Cregagh Wood Hide opening from 8-10am weekend
29th October - Glenarm Forest Walk @ 11am
