Dragon Boat Challenge at Drumaheglis Marina

Ballymoney, 9 Sep

Dragon Boat Challenge at Drumaheglis Marina enjoy the spectacle of Dragon Boat Racing on the River Bann.

Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and dates back more than 2000 years. Boats are 40 foot long and need a crew of 15-19. The race is a 250 metre sprint along the river Bann with 2 boats taking part through heats. The fastest teams make it to the final to become this year's Champions.

Drumaheglis Marina offers a venue to provide a great family day out, with onsite catering including BBQ with other family fun and entertainment organised on the day.

The Winning Team is presented with medals and a trophy at the final prize giving ceremony.

Safety and coordination will be provided by Bryson Lagan Sports for all team participants including full safety briefing, lifejackets and full ‘on the water’ boat support.

Race entry fee of £20 per person promises great fun and covers running, safety and insurance costs. Sign up as an individual or as a team (£20pp). (Individuals Participating must be 14 years or over)

Racing starts at 10:30
